The new students were welcomed by a colorful and heart-to-heart party. In order to enrich the campus culture,make the learning atmosphere more active and give a heartfelt welcome to the new students, Wuxi University successfully held theCIS2021WelcomeParty with the theme of “To Build Dreams,We Are Here” at the Binjiang Auditorium at noon on November 3rd. About80 people attended the party, including the leaders, faculty and staff of the School of InternationalStudents, all the international students in China and some Chinese students of the University.
The theme of the Orientation Party was “To Build Dream We Are Here”, which consisted of student performances, speeches by the dean and representatives of old and new students, and fun games. At 14:00 pm, the party began with a powerful speech by the host. The first program was a dance performance by Takura, an international student, who opened the party with a dance that quickly brought the audience into the party’s cheerful atmosphere, and everyone cheered and applauded. Then, with the audience warmly welcoming him, Wang Yong, the president of the National Institute of Education, delivered a speech.
After the speech, the international students and Chinese students performed a song “Chinese Words” together, in which the international students adapted the lyrics in English to reflect their own understanding of Chinese culture. After that, Brahim, the representative of the old students, gave a speech, telling us what he had gained from studying in school in the past few years and giving his best wishes to the new students. Terry, a representative of the new students, spoke about his expectations of campus life and his outlook on the future. These performances fully demonstrated the versatility and confidence of the international students to the college leaders, and also aroused the applause of the students in the audience.
During this time, volunteers distributed drinks and snacks to the audience. And then, the game session was ushered in with laughter. There were three game sessions,Do the action I guess, Pass the Mic and Chinese Knowledge Quiz.All the students participated enthusiastically, andbesidesthat, the leaders, Chinese and foreign teachers also joined in, which brought the distance between teachers and students even closer. After the game session, all the guests and audience took a group photo together and the party came to a successful end.
The CIS2021WelcomePartywas of great significance, as an Orientation Party for the new students and all the old students. It was a youthful stage, a gathering across the mountains and seas, and a memory that will never be forgotten.
